Apple to offer free replacements for faulty iPhone 6S batteries

Apple is offering free battery replacements for iPhone 6S users who are experiencing unexpected shutdowns while using their device.

According to the iPhone creator, the small batch of faulty phones were those produced between September and October 2015.

The affected devices are reported to shut down without warning, despite the battery icon showing there should be plenty of battery remaining.

Anyone with an eligible phone who takes up the offer will get a free replacement battery for their device.

Apple have suggested that users back up their data and wipe their phone before having the battery replaced – which they also urge customers to do at certified Apple retailers.
