A leading gaming group based in the heart of London are looking for someone to champion best development practices with a talented development team and be the driving force behind future growth and recruitment. You will join an established and growing team as they look to expand even further, initially looking after a cross functional team of 7. As the team continues to grow you will head up the recruitment and build a team around yourself and what you believe is best way to move the team forward.

As a Team Lead you will still be a key hands on contributor to all development projects, expected to lead the team by example and ensure all agreed requirements and best practices are met.

Technical Experience:Team Lead, London

  • Solid background in Java and related frameworks (Spring, Springboot Hibernate etc.)
  • Familiar with a number of build and integration tools (Maven, Ant, Jenkins, Gradle etc.)
  • Experience working within microservices architecture (RESTful)
  • Familiar with using Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Strong background developing APIs (Apigee API gateway)
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms (Ideally Google Cloud Platform)
  • Solid experience with DevOps tools and Technologies would be a bonus (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Up to date with the latest Development methodological and Techniques (Agile, TDD, PairProgramming)

Middleware Engineer

Middleware Engineer – Permanent – Hertfordshire – Basic salary £60,000 pa – total package £72,000 pa

You will be working for a company that has been leading the way in the payments industry for nearly 50 years, pioneering the UK’s first network of ATMs.

Today, they develop world-class payments platforms that power global economies. Their payment platforms power Bacs and the Faster Payments Service in the UK and they continue to bring their expertise to the fore by enhancing their existing systems and developing a blueprint for the future of payments.

The role will require you to be within the Infrastructure Services Middleware Team responsible to provide both Live Operations Support and Project Infrastructure Support activities.

You will be expected to deliver an outstanding level of Middleware Admin support across all live payment systems, ensuring that systems meet or exceed their SLAs.

Experience in a demanding, high availability environment:

  • IBM MQ (7,8)
  • IBM Tivoli workload schedulerMiddleware Engineer, Hertfordshire
  • Troubleshooting Middleware/ Java environments
  • Unix (preferably Solaris)
  • Shell Scripting

Desirable:

Front End Developer

Front End Developer – 6 Month Contract (SC Cleared) – South London – £300-£400 PD – Outside IR35

I am looking to speak to talented front end developers who enjoy working with and learning the latest and greatest emerging web technologies.

I have an exciting initial 6 month contract opportunity that is likely to be extended to at least 12 months.

You should be a competent front end developer who has extensive knowledge and experience with Front End technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and it’s libraries/frameworks (ideally ReactJS). In addition you should have a solid understanding of web accessibility and be familiar with task runners Gulp/Grunt. You should also be familiar with working in an Agile environment and following TDD and continuous integration best practices.

It would be advantageous if you had experience with:

  • React Flux architecture
  • REdux
  • Sass
  • Webpack
  • Babel
  • NodeJS & NPM

Big Data Developer/Architect

Big Data Developer/Architect – 6 Month Contract – Outside IR35 – £450 – £750 PD – South London 

Calling all Big Data professionals!

I am looking to speak with a variety of Big Data professionals form Mid through to Senior and Architect level of experience to help support a transformation programme for a client who are based in the South London area. There are multiple positions available of all levels of seniority.

The project is focused around Big data and visualisation capabilities, so you should have strong knowledge and experience around the Big Data technology landscape.

You will be joining a brand new team to support a large scale transformation project and will be required to act as a Big Data expert. You will use your knowledge and expertise to provide architectural inputs and help drive best practice throughout the design, architecture and development. Furthermore you will be involved in the technical hand on development throughout the project.

You will need to be eligible for SC clearance or if you have an active SC (or higher) clearance, that would be a huge bonus.

You’ll be responsible for understanding internal requirements and business needs along with the current business applications. This will allow you to help agree the application strategies and roadmaps for the next 3-5 years, and the portfolios to deliver them across the regional business functions.

On top of this you’ll aid design, delivery and support of new solutions driving business efficiency. You’ll propose and investigate new technologies to improve the regions manufacturing process, launch necessary projects to support agreed strategy and act as the link between business, software and service delivery teams.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in enterprise business systems development and an understanding of the system development life cycle in large organisations. This includes skills in requirements gathering, analysis and technologies.
  • An interest in technology trends and systems development would be beneficial as a part of your role will be to investigate these.
  • Being capable of translating business requirements into application design will help you as well.
  • Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, manufacturing, Automotive, Engineering or FMCG would be required to help you to understand the business you will be joining.

Due to the nature of the organisation travel will be required across the UK and Europe. What you will get in return is a salary of between £35,000-50,000 p.a. plus benefits.
