An electric car charging network will be built across Europe, by a partnership of some of the world’s largest car firms.
BMW, Daimler, Ford and Volkswagen Group have announced plans to build 400 charging sites, with plug-in points that will provide ultra-fast charging for cars along major roads.
Under the new plans, drivers will be able to charge their vehicles at a speed of 350 kW, which is considerably faster than the current market leader.
Unfortunately for Tesla owners, their cars will not be able to use the charge points as they use different systems.
According to the car manufacturers, work on the new project will commence in 2017.
