We are want to have that perfect work life balance, but lets be honest does it really exist?
There are plenty of articles out that there give you tips on how to achieve harmony between work and home life.
A recent article by Wired.co.uk commented that ‘To boost your productivity, you don’t need to massively change your work life or routine’.
Wired.co.uk suggested that by doing the following things, you can lead a more productive life both at work and at home:
- Adjust Lighting and tempreature
- Make time for things other than work
- Create moments of elevation
- Make the most of your first hour
- Surround yourself with plants
- Think about office design
- Organise your digital life
- Avoid the number seven
- Embrace background noise
- Turn off push notifications
Although some of these ideas may seem a little strange, such as avoiding the number seven, the other ideas are something while going about our daily lives.
A different view on this idea can be seen in an article from 2014 from The Guardian.
This article gives a more work focused approach on how to obtain productivity between the ideal work life balance.
Some of their ideas included:
- Step away from emails
- Just say no
- Work smarter not harder
- Leave work at work
- Set your own rules
