New colours!

Samsung embracing a lighter pastel hue, for their latest range. Mobile tweeter Ishan Agarwal posted images said to be official renders of the S20 phones. Also stating that the S20 Ultra will come in black and grey. The S20 Plus in black, grey and blue. And the S20 in grey, pink and blue. *

*(Note that colour availability often varies by region)

A new feature: Quick Share

The rumoured tool will make it easier to transfer photos, videos and other files between compatible devices. The software could mimic the effect of Apple’s AirDrop tool.

Cameras

We’ve already mentioned which phones will have which cameras. But let’s talk more about the rumoured 108-megapixel main camera sensor for the S20 Ultra.

It is known that the larger the camera pixel, the more light that can flow in. Therefor better pictures. But don’t forget that more megapixels won’t always make the image better. The camera processing also plays a huge role in the quality too.

Chinese brand Xiaomi already beat Samsung to it with the Mi CC9 Pro, which has a 108-megapixel camera.

The Snapdragon 856 chip mentioned earlier can support a 200-megapixel camera. You probably won’t use the whole 108 million pixels at the same time. The extra resolution will probably to help with the quality of zooming and cropping.

leaker Ice Universe tweeted that the S20 and S20 Plus will have 12-megapixel cameras. As well as the higher-end devices having time-of-flight sensors (ToF).

Screen

We should also be getting the ability to turn on a 120Hz screen refresh rate. Making animations and scrolling a lot smoother than that standard 60Hz we have now.

It is great for gaming but does come at a price, battery draining. But Samsung could allow you to switch between the two. 60hz to preserve battery and 120Hz for animations.

Storage and RAM

According to Weinbach’s recent tweet, the S20 Ultra will have:

  • 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage options
  • 12GB and16GB RAM configurations
  • MicroSD card slot for external storage, with support for up to, 1TB
