Blue Moon Lunar Lander

Jeff Bezos, amazon entrepreneur, has revealed his latest project- a lunar lander. The brand-new spacecraft will be capable of carrying scientific equipment and astronauts to space by 2024. The aim for Blue Moon will be to land on the south pole of the moon where there are ice deposits which have been found in craters, the water from the ice can be broken down to produce hydrogen, which could then be used to fuel the spacecraft for further missions.

One of the big difficulties they will be facing is the landing capability as it is difficult to build a lunar lander with the capability to land on the surface of the moon, this feature will be highly unique and allow their astronauts to get to the surface of the moon.

Bezos plan is to make travelling to the moon more affordable, the Blue Moon is designed to carry materials to be customisable for different payloads which is to be used as infrastructure. It will also be using hydrogen rather than solar power so that it can continue operating during long lunar nights. It can also deploy up to four self-driving rovers and launch satellites to orbit the moon.

What are your thoughts on the new lunar lander?
