21% OF EMPLOYEES QUIT JOBS BECAUSE THEY DON’T FEEL VALUED

Do you feel undervalued in your company? Don’t worry you’re not alone!

27% of workers have lied as to when they leave their job, that’s more than a quarter! This increases to 40% with workers aged 18-34. 43% with a long-term health condition, 36% for LGBT workers, and 37% from an ethnic minority background.

Knowing the reason why your employees quite will help you to improve and retain employees in the future. There are many reasons for employees to quit the first reason is to do with a boss/manager. “People don’t just quite a job, they quit their boss” I’m sure you’ve heard the saying many times, but management is one of the top reasons.

Sheri Hughes, UK diversity & inclusion director at Michael Page, commented, “It’s evident that organisations are not doing enough to ensure their employees feel valued or included, with so many workers being embarrassed or unwilling to admit the real reason they’re leaving a job.”

In a study of more than 2,000 workers, 32% leave because they believe they were being underpaid, 21% didn’t feel valued, 15% said their job impacted their mental health. 9% of workers also said they quit because they did not feel included.
